Getting started
Do I need an account to bid or buy?
Yes. You sign in with your ReefnBid account, and you need a Verified valid payment method on file before you can bid. See Verified Checkout and payment setup.
How do I get verified?
Go to Account Overview, open the Wallet tab, add your shipping and payment details, and save. That is it, you are ready to bid. Verified Checkout and payment setup
Bidding and buying
Why can't I bid?
Usually it is a payment issue: either you have not set up a Verified valid payment method, or a recent order payment failed and needs sorting out. Update your card in Account Overview and the order recharges, then you can bid again. Bidding is also blocked while your account is suspended. Why can’t I bid?
How does bidding work? Do I have to watch the auction the whole time?
No. With max bidding you set the most you are willing to pay, and ReefnBid raises your bid just enough to keep you in front, up to your maximum. You often win for less than your limit. How max bidding works
Why do I keep getting outbid immediately?
Most of the time it is not someone racing you. Another bidder already set a maximum bid on that item before you showed up, so the moment your bid comes in, ReefnBid raises theirs right back up to stay ahead of you, automatically. Nobody has to be watching for it to happen instantly. Setting your own max bid is the best way to stay competitive. How max bidding works
What is Sniping Protection?
On auctions that have it on, a bid placed in the final minute extends the auction by 15 seconds, so a last second bid cannot steal the win. Sniping protection
What is a Lightning Sale, and how do offers work?
A Lightning Sale is a discounted item for a limited time. You can Buy Now, or make an offer below the price and let the seller accept, decline, or counter. You can raise an offer but not take it back, and an accepted offer charges your card right away. What a Lightning Sale is
Messaging
Why can't I message a seller?
Messaging turns on once you have a Verified valid payment method. We require it to keep spammers and scammers out. Add one in Account Overview and you can message right away. Verified Checkout and payment setup
Payments
When am I actually charged?
Only after a seller confirms your order. Think of it like closing a tab at a bar: your card is charged once the seller reviews and approves. Verified Checkout and payment setup
My payment failed. What do I do?
Update your card in Account Overview. Until it is fixed you cannot place new bids, and sellers are not required to hold items for you. Payment issues and how to fix them
Shipping
When will my order ship?
Each seller sets their own shipping days and rates, shown in the listing. By default an order ships on the seller’s next available day after the auction ends, and you can request a different available date. Shipping and pickup
Can I pick up locally instead of paying shipping?
If a seller offers local pickup, choose it as your shipping option and message the seller to arrange a time. Shipping and pickup
I won several items from one seller. Do I pay shipping on each?
No. Wins from the same seller combine into one order automatically. Combining multiple items into one order
If something goes wrong
My item arrived damaged, or never arrived.
Message the seller first to try to work it out. If you cannot resolve it, open a dispute from your order and ReefnBid will step in to mediate. Dispute management
What is the difference between a ReefnBid dispute and a chargeback?
A dispute is ReefnBid’s own process: you and the seller try to work it out, and if you cannot, we step in and mediate toward a refund, reshipment, or other resolution. A chargeback is asking your bank to reverse the charge, and it is a last resort. Always open a dispute first. Filing a chargeback before using Dispute Management can get your account suspended. See Dispute management and Chargeback policy.
How do refunds work?
Refunds are handled by the seller and go back to your Verified Checkout card, usually within 5 to 10 business days. Whether you qualify depends on the seller’s policy, so read it before you bid. About refunds on ReefnBid
Can I cancel a bid or an order?
Bids are binding and generally cannot be cancelled. For a problem with an order, contact the seller or open a dispute. Canceling bids and orders
I had a bad experience with a seller. Can I warn people?
Open a dispute first. That is the only route that can actually fix your order. Once it is settled, leave an honest rating.
Ratings are how this works. ReefnBid is built on the community deciding which sellers succeed through actions rather than words, and bids and ratings are those actions. Sellers who do right by people earn more of both, and sellers who do not will watch the bids dry up. Calling a seller out in a thread does not fix your order and those posts get removed, but an honest rating stays and is read by every buyer after you. Dispute management
What does it mean if my account is suspended or banned?
A suspension is a temporary block: you stay signed in but cannot bid, check out, or message, and any leading bids are released. You can still work through an open dispute. A ban is a full block that stops you signing in at all. Both are set and lifted only by ReefnBid staff, so ask in the ReefnBid Academy or tag the ReefnBid AI Assistant (@ReefnBid-AI) if you think it is a mistake. Account suspension and banning
Community
What are the rules of the community?
Be decent to each other, post in the right category, keep deals on ReefnBid, and keep personal details out of public posts. If something goes wrong with an order, use Dispute Management rather than calling a seller out publicly. The full list is in the community guidelines.
Do not see your question here? Post it in the ReefnBid Academy and a staff member or fellow reefer can help.
